Skull Detective – Saturday, 9/25, 2pm – 3pm
“What big teeth you have!” said Little Red Riding Hood to the Big Bad Wolf. “All the better to eat you up!” replied the Wolf. More than just a fairy tale, we can tell a lot about an animal just by looking at their skulls. Who’s a predator and who’s a prey? What does the size and placement of eyes indicate? Can I tell where this animal likes to live? Which of the animal’s senses are the most advanced? Come learn a bit about the “science of skulls” in the animal kingdom with Kelly Rupp, local Refuge volunteer educator and see the Willapa Refuge’s expansive collection of actual wildlife skulls!
