Ecology of Leadbetter Point – Saturday, 9/25, 9am – 12pm

143 143 people viewed this event.
Join Willapa National Wildlife Refuge wildlife biologist Will Ritchie for an exciting hike at the tip of the Long Beach Peninsula in the Leadbetter Point Unit of Willapa National Wildlife Refuge. This is a wild place with limited human access that creates a sanctuary for wildlife, rare plants, and hundreds of bird species. The guided 5-mile hike traverses through forest to the beach then circles back to the bay provides many opportunities for learning about the local ecology and ongoing habitat restoration activities.
  • Meet at the Willapa NWR – Leadbetter Point Parking Area at the north end Stackpole Road (Discover Pass required)
  • Limited to 12 participants; must be a registered attendee of Wings Over Willapa.
