Join avid birder Erin Ryan and USFWS shorebird biologist Vanessa Loverti for a fun-filled day of birding in Bay Center, a tour of a Goose Point Oyster’s working oyster processing plant, and finish with lunch at their Oystery. This tour is from 9:00 -3:00pm. Board a Festival van for a 30-minute trip to Bay Center. We’ll stop at a couple of birding “hot spots” in hopes of seeing some fall migrants and local residents. Potential sightings include a variety of shorebirds, waterfowl, wading birds, and more. After birding, we’ll cross the Palix River to Goose Point Shellfish Farm and Oystery where we will be given a tour of their facility and see some rapid-fire oyster shucking! Finally, we’ll finish the day on the patio of Goose Point to enjoy a lunch of Willapa Bay oysters and more. (Lunch is provided)
